Tuesley Farm is located on 190 hectares within an Area of Great Landscape Value and adjacent to the Surrey Hills AONB. We provided landscape advice to the owners, Hall Hunter Partnership, in connection with a planning application for the siting of polytunnels on the farm. Our appointment followed an unsuccessful planning Appeal and High Court challenge.
Our studies included a Landscape and Visual Impact Appraisal that informed the production of a Polytunnel Management Scheme. This determined locations where polytunnels could be located subject to detailed protocols and total site coverage limits. The protocols were developed to minimise landscape and visual effects whilst allowing a degree of flexibility for the client to be able to farm efficiently. Photomontages were prepared to demonstrate typical proposed views for three period of the year. Planning consent was granted on the basis of the Polytunnel Management Scheme.
We have since provided landscape advice in connection with several other development proposals at the farm including a winter storage reservoir, workers accommodation and a biomass boiler extension.
